What impact has EDA had on you?
Emerging Digital Academy has helped me feel like I have a future to grow into. Just because I’m now on a different path than what I had originally set out to walk, doesn’t mean I am on the wrong path.
What has been the biggest lesson you have learned?
The biggest lesson I have learned doesn’t have much to do with the coding, or the course material. In an application, there is always more you can do to make it closer to “perfect”, but sometimes the effort, time, or stress isn’t worth making an already good application a tiny bit better. The lesson is making the best application to solve the problem sometimes isn’t something that has everything under the sun, sometimes simple is simply the best approach.
What has been your favorite memory from EDA?
Having guest speakers come in to class and talk to us about what they do, what their company does, and how they got to where they are.
If you were to give advice to someone considering applying to EDA, what would you say?
If you have an interest in the internet, computers, or programming, this is the place for you. The team at EDA genuinely cares about you, your progress, your health, and your future. EDA measures their success not only by getting students to graduate but also by how well they do after graduation.
What advice do you have for the next cohort?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help, sometimes the solution is easier than what you’re making it out to be. Make it fun, you’ll always do better when you enjoy what you’re doing.
