What impact has EDA had on you?

Emerging Digital Academy has made me more comfortable in stepping out of my career comfort zone. I was initially really nervous to pivot careers, but the EDA staff and my peers made me feel right at home. Now I know that I am capable of making big shifts in my life, and that’s something I’ll carry with me everyday.

What has been the biggest lesson you have learned?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency is everyting. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by everything there is to learn, but if you stay consistent and take everything in pieces, you’ll be surprised at how much you can learn in 20 short weeks.

What has been your favorite memory from EDA?

My favorite memory was attending TEDxFargo. I really enjoyed the opportunities we had to get out of the classroom to take part in community activities.

If you were to give advice to someone considering applying to EDA, what would you say?

Follow your passion! If you enjoy coding and learning new skills, there’s a great chance you’ll thrive in EDA. Don’t forget to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with this new experience.

What advice do you have for the next cohort?

Find ways to keep yourself consistent and motivated. EDA will go by so quickly, and the more you learn in these 20 weeks, the more confident you will be in your knowledge at the end of it.
