Meet Minsky: Amber Schaack

Amber Schaack is an Emerging Digital Academy student in our Minsky Cohort. Amber is from Jamestown, ND where she used to be a college hockey coach.

Why did you choose EDA?

I have always been curious about tech / design and had a good friend complete the program. She loved it and found a job she enjoys so I decided to make the jump as well!

 

What is the most interesting or surprising thing about EDA so far?

I just really enjoy working with my classmates and figuring out how each of us assess a problem. It’s challenging to learn a new topic really quick, but the staff has been incredibly helpful!

 

Are there any companies that you would love to work for?

Being able to combine my love for sports and being active with my new software engineering skillset would be ideal!

 

What are your hobbies outside of EDA?

Going to the gym, coaching hockey, walking my dog, craft/game nights with my friends, reading

 

Any advice for someone thinking about joining EDA?

DO IT! It may seem scary to make a career change, but everyone at EDA is so supportive and will ensure that you have a great experience.

 

What is something you are grateful for?

My support system. My friends are great and my family is always willing to help out when I need it!
