Meet Jenny Lagervall of our fourteenth cohort, Neumann. Jenny grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, and San Diego, California. She recently moved to Fargo and decided to dive right into Emerging Digital Academy! Prior to attending EDA, Jenny was a statistics tutor and graduate student.

Why did you choose EDA?
I enrolled in EDA because I wanted to blend my background in psychological research and data analysis with the tech world. I chose EDA because of its in-person bootcamp style model and its amazing networking opportunities.
What is the most interesting or surprising thing about EDA so far?
The most surprising part about my time at EDA so far has been the incredibly friendly and supportive environment. Additionally, the program also places a strong emphasis on personal development and networking throughout.
Are there any companies you would love to work for?
I currently don’t have a specific company in mind, but I would love to work for a company that values learning, growth and development. My ultimate goal is to blend web development with my background in data management and analysis.
What are your hobbies outside of EDA?
I really enjoy learning and love exploring and discovering new things, places, and ideas. I especially love wandering around museums, learning new skills like crocheting and cross-stitch, or trying a new restaurant.
Any advice for someone thinking about joining EDA?
My advice would be for those who come from a non-technical background but are interested in web development and EDA: you can definitely make the transition with dedication and focus, especially during the pre-work and early stages of the program. EDA supports learners from all backgrounds and offers a highly supportive learning environment!

I am grateful for the family and friends who support me and for the positive learning environment at EDA.
